2012 EWB Challenge Awards

The 2012 EWB Challenge focussed on the Anh Minh district within the Mekong Delta in Vietnam. Partnering with Habitat for Humanity Vietnam (HFHV), students designed potential solutions for a range of design areas that were identified at a workshop. Habitat for Humanity believes that a house is more than just four walls and a roof. It is a basic right, and helps to break the poverty cycle. They are an organisation that works throughout the developing world to provide decent and sturdy housing with sustainable building materials.

The design areas within the EWB Challenge for 2012 were Housing, Water Supply and Sanitation, Waste Management, Energy, Transport and ICT.
